Officers responded to a report of a woman who claimed she was being held hostage and possibly sex trafficked. She mentioned having been struck on the head, but the officers appeared to dismiss her allegations. In a moment of agitation and frustration, the woman held a knife to her throat.
The supervisor instructed the officers to exit the hotel room and close the door if the woman advanced. However, Officer Jacob Sanchez disregarded this directive and opened fire on the woman. The woman later succumbed to her injuries.
