Four young Black tourists were detained by LAPD officer Sheila Enriquez in a stop that escalated with six backup officers arriving on the scene. The group was removed from their car, handcuffed, and subjected to searches, both of themselves and their vehicle, reportedly due to marijuana use. The incident lasted about an hour.
During the stop, one of the tourists was accused of gang affiliation by officers, allegedly based on a tattoo reading “love.”

I noticed LAPD Hollywood officers Esquivel and Enriquez closely tailing a driver. They passed right by me, seemingly too focused to notice.
