Gabriel Espadas

Between September 9, 2022, and September 25, 2023, Gabriel Espadas allegedly abused his position of authority to sexually assault a woman who had recently been released from involuntary confinement. The LAPD investigated the allegations and substantiated the following complaints:

• Inappropriately contacted the complainant after placing them on a 5150 WIC hold.
• Exploited his status as a police officer to gain the complainant’s trust for a personal relationship.
• Requested the complainant to engage in a sexual act.
• Retained the complainant’s personal information for personal use.
• Converted an on-duty interaction into an off-duty sexual relationship.
