After a person was the victim of a battery, LAPD Sergeant Kyle James responded to the scene. Instead of following LAPD policy by taking a crime report, Sergeant James refused to do so. When questioned about his failure to comply with policy, he falsely claimed that battery reports must be filed online, which is incorrect, as such reports cannot be submitted online.
When informed of this, Sergeant James dishonestly asserted that the policy had changed, further compounding his misconduct.
