Complaints Sustained Against LAPD Sparkle Williams

On April 8, 2023, LAPD Officer Sparkle Williams arrived at the scene of a service call for an apartment. The complainant was standing outside their car when Officer Williams directed a flashlight beam directly into the complainant’s phone, violating their Second Amendment rights. Later, when asked to provide her identification, Officer Williams refused.

Complaints were filed and sustained for:

  • Shining a light into the complainant’s camera
  • Refusing to identify herself as required
