Officer Harrasses Reporter & Refuses to ID

While filming a felony stop alongside a credentialed journalist and another copwatcher, Hollywood officer Perello deliberately flashed his flashlight at our cameras, attempting to obstruct our footage.

Interfering with public filming is a First Amendment violation, as freedom of speech protects the right to film police activities. Officer Perello ended up getting a 5 day suspension for:

  • Failing to Identify
  • Using his flashlight to obstruct filming
  • Unbecoming conduct
