The traffic stop by LAPD officers Gabi Reynoso and Emmanuel Figueroa lasted over 45 minutes after the driver was pulled over for running a red light. Despite this being a simple traffic infraction, the stop escalated significantly.
The driver was handcuffed and searched, and the car was also searched. The officers refused to explain why they escalated the situation. As a result, I filed a complaint with the station and left it to Internal Affairs to investigate. A complaint was filed against each officer for:
